Nurses

  • Providing care for all pupils at school in accordance with medical instructions
  • Accompanying boarding school pupils to doctor’s appointments and various activities
  • Implementing, documenting and evaluating care measures
  • Professional implementation of therapeutic and diagnostic measures in accordance with medical instructions

General Practitioner

  • Providing care for pupils in my capacity as a school doctor
  • School medical duties as defined by the School Act (SchuG) – conducting medical examinations of pupils to prevent and identify illnesses and developmental disorders
  • Confidential medical advisor and medical counselling
  • Providing medical support in crises
  • Contributing to the control of infectious diseases
  • Collaboration with other medical services in the education sector (e.g. school psychologists)
  • Prevention of work-related hazards; maintaining and promoting performance in the pupils’ learning environment

Ophthalmologist

  • Medical reports, particularly for applications for care allowances or medical aids

Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist

  • Assessment of pupils for neurological and psychiatric conditions or disabilities
  • Advice to parents and carers regarding therapeutic measures
  • Advice to teaching staff on how to appropriately address the specific needs of affected children (most common issues: epilepsy, behavioural difficulties), training in emergency procedures

Physiotherapist

  • Assessment of physiotherapy needs, counselling and treatment of children and young people with physical and multiple disabilities
  • Support with the provision of assistive devices (wheelchairs, walking aids, standing frames, everyday aids, etc.)
