Your voice at school
The parents’ association of the Bundesblindeninstitut is your voice at school and an important bridge between parents, after-school care, teachers, and the school administration.
With us, you can
Benefit from others’ experiences
At our parents’ meetings, you’ll find answers to important questions such as: What training pathways and career opportunities are available to my child? What leisure activities are available for children with visual impairments or blindness? What should I bear in mind when applying for care allowance? Benefit from the experiences of families who have already navigated these issues, or from the information provided by the experts we invite to give talks.
Playing an active role in shaping everyday school life
Do you see areas where everyday school life could be improved? As a member of the Parents’ Association, you can contribute your ideas directly – whether they concern school events, the organisation of leisure activities, or practical improvements. Through regular dialogue with the school management, we work together to ensure that your suggestions are heard and taken into account in the decision-making process.
Building connections as families
During our joint family activities, children and parents get to know one another across year groups. Whilst the children make new friends, you can network with other families and share experiences. Whether through cooking together, on trips or in workshops – this is where valuable connections are formed that extend beyond everyday school life.
Ensuring equal opportunities for all children
We provide financial support for various initiatives – from therapeutic horse riding to the winter sports week and the summer trip to Lignano. The membership fee of 25 euros per family per year helps, among other things, to enable all children to take part – regardless of their families’ financial circumstances.
