In addition to basic perceptual development, the key components of our teaching include the development of motor skills, the learning, practising and consolidation of practical life skills, eating training, supported communication and social learning.
Sensory Integration
Sensory integration refers to the reception, processing and integration of all the senses in conjunction with movement. It serves as the basis for complex functions.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication
Interacting with one’s environment, expressing needs and wishes, and sharing experiences are fundamental human needs. Through Augmentative and Alternative Communication, we enable non-verbal people to engage in communicative exchange. To this end, a wide variety of communication strategies and aids are used in the classroom.
Cultural skills
Reading, writing, arithmetic and techniques specific to the visually impaired (Braille) are supported in a variety of ways, depending on the pupils’ abilities, through individually tailored teaching materials, computer-assisted learning, Montessori materials and varied, fun-focused learning activities.
